Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

We went to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque yesterday.. The mosque is so beautiful masyaAllah. We do the Friday prayer here. I don’t understand the khutbah as it is in Arabic.. Just try to listen and try to understand..

After praying, I see this one blind girl with her mother. It really touches my heart to see the way she prays and her face is so peaceful like nothing else is bothering her. Being in the most beautiful mosque in the world and she cant even have a glimpse on it make me realize how grateful I should be to my Creator.. This scene really touches my heart..

There is a free guided tour after the prayer.. They divide us in a small group and bring us around the mosque..

These are few interesting fact about the mosque:

This mosque is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. It is named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and the first President of the United Arab Emirates, who is also buried there. The design of the Mosque can be best described as a fusion of Arab, Mughal and Moorish architecture. The Mosque is large enough to accommodate 40,000 worshippers. There are 57 domes covering the outside yard and the main building as well.

The domes are decorated with white Bianco marble from Pietrasanta, Italy and the interior decoration is made of white marble from Laas, Italy. The carpet laid out on the vast expanse is the "World's Largest Carpet" made by Iran's Carpet Company and designed by Iranian artist Ali Khaliqi. This mosque also holds the largest chandelier. There are seven imported chandeliers from Germany made from gold-plated copper and fitted with millions of Swarovski crystals.
